Je nach Temperatur des Metalls w\u00e4hrend des Strangpressens wird es in Warm- und Kaltstrangpressen unterteilt. Basierend auf dem Block kann es in Barrenstrangpressen, Blockstrangpressen, Pulverstrangpressen und Fl\u00fcssigmetallstrangpressen unterteilt werden. Nach der Art des Metalls kann man zwischen dem Strangpressen von Eisenmetallen und dem Strangpressen von Nichteisenmetallen unterscheiden. Die auf den Kn\u00fcppel ausge\u00fcbte Kraft richtet sich an seiner Achse aus, und das stranggepresste Produkt flie\u00dft in einem Winkel von 90\u00b0 zur Strangpresskraft aus der Matrizen\u00f6ffnung.
